I am an education and communications professional with extensive and different experience, ready to support you in achieving your learning goals. My passion for teaching and imparting knowledge has led me to various roles, each of which has enriched my methodological approach and my ability to adapt to individual needs. I began my journey in journalism, working as an editor for a daily newspaper. This experience provided me with valuable skills in clarity of exposition, in-depth research, and the ability to synthesize complex concepts—all essential qualities that I bring to my lessons. Subsequently, I had the opportunity to work as a substitute teacher in secondary schools in the Canton of Ticino, experiencing group dynamics and the diverse needs of students on a daily basis. This role allowed me to refine my teaching strategies and develop an empathetic and inclusive approach.
I’ve been offering private lessons as a tutor for years, working with students of all ages, levels, and subjects. My methodology is based on active listening, personalized learning, and the creation of a calm and stimulating learning environment. Whether you need to address gaps in your knowledge, delve deeper into specific topics, or prepare for an exam, I’ll be by your side to create an effective learning experience. Furthermore, my experience as an Italian teacher to foreigners has allowed me to develop a deep understanding of different cultures and learning styles. I’ve learned to simplify linguistic rules and make learning Italian accessible and fun for anyone who wants to explore our language and culture.
Rossana personalizes the lessons for my level of Italian which is much more helpful than taking a group lesson or only working on my own. And I get to practice my Italian during the entire session instead of listening to others. F. (USA)”
Rossana gestaltet die Unterrichtsstunden sehr abwechslungsreich und passt sie perfekt dem jeweiligen Sprachniveau an. Sie ist sehr geduldig und humorvoll – es macht Spass mit Rossana zu lernen! C. (CH)
She makes all of my lessons very interactive and fun. She always asks me if the lesson was difficult or easy for me. When I learn something new she always asks me if I have any questions about what I just learned. E. (BM)
I am Swiss-Italian qualified Italian teacher for students of all ages and nationalities, specializing primarily in German-, English-, and French-speaking students living in cities throughout Switzerland (Zurich, Bern, Geneva, Lausanne, etc.) and around the world.
I speak fluent English, French, and German. This allows me to understand exactly why you’re making that mistake and explain the Italian logic to you, starting from your native language.
My specialization (Master’s degree in Digital Technologies and Distance Learning Methodologies) has allowed me to design a teaching method that takes advantage of the best of the online world to make your lessons interactive, dynamic and never boring.
With over 20 years of experience and thousands of hours of lessons under my belt, I’ve helped students of all nationalities overcome their fear of speaking and achieve their goals, both professional and personal. For me, teaching Italian isn’t just about teaching grammatical rules, but about opening a door to the beauty and culture.
Why choose my method?
Learning a language as an adult can seem like a complex challenge. That’s why I combined field experience with a solid academic foundation, pursuing a Master’s in Digital Technologies for Learning.
What does this mean for you?
Dynamic lessons: no boring, static slides, but interactive tools that make online learning effective and engaging.
Multilingual support: i speak English, French, and German fluently. This allows me to understand your specific difficulties and explain the nuances of the Italian language, starting from your native tongue. Total customization: whether you need to prepare for an exam (like the FIDE, CELI or CILS), move to Italy, or simply order a coffee with confidence, the path will be tailored to you.
Beyond teaching
I believe that to teach a language, you must love communication in all its forms. When I’m not in front of a screen with my students, I love traveling through Italian villages, reading classics of philosophy and literature, cooking for my family or walking in nature with my dogs. This curiosity of mine is what I bring to every lesson: every meeting is a cultural exchange, not just an exercise.
